This position is responsible for assisting in the operations and development of the Spokane Furniture Bank

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  1. Oversee work of 2-6 staff members (job training participants referred to CCSFB by DSHS as a means to increase employability) operating within the framework of Greenleaf’s Servant Leadership model.
  2. Facilitate regular assessment conversations with Next Step Job Training participants, providing constructive feedback and professional growth opportunities.
  3. Assess office operations, identify areas and solutions for improved efficiency and propose plans for change implementation;
  4. Provide information and referral to Spokane community members, potential clients and staff as needed.
  5. Model professional behaviors, delegate tasks appropriately and provide timely constructive feedback to Next Step Job Training participants; evaluate participant/volunteer performance, prepare performance appraisals and submit reviews to appropriate personnel.
  6. Develop a healthy and constructive team dynamic focused on impeccable customer service, professional development and inclusivity.
  7. Participate as integral part of CCSFB’s leadership team.
  8. Review work completed by volunteers to ensure that it has been completed correctly; provide clear communication regarding expectations and tasks.
  9. Transmit and explain work orders to job training participants and other volunteers; train all volunteers appropriately and consistently.
  10. Perform the same service duties as those supervised, or perform more complex or skilled tasks, or assist in their performance.
  11. Ensure that CCSFB rules and responsibilities are maintained.
  12. Maintain CCSFB documentation as required.
  13. Assist with preparation of correspondence, reports, and further development of operations, maintenance, procedure and safety manuals.
  14. Create schedules and delegate duties to maintain adequate job training participant coverage for effective performance of daily activities.
  15. Plan work schedules and assign duties to maintain adequate staff for effective performance of activities and response to fluctuating workloads.
  16. Collaborate with co-workers and supervisors to solve work-related problems.
  17. Assist with the coordination and fa
  18. cilitation of ZAGiving operations, as well as other university and business donation drives.
  19. Model professional behaviors, delegate tasks appropriately and provide timely constructive feedback to Next Step Job Training participants; evaluate employee performance and prepare performance appraisals.
  20. Recruit and retain consistent flow of volunteers by way of community involvement, volunteer coordination software and collaboration with Catholic Charities of Spokane Volunteer Coordinator.
  21. Review work throughout the process and at completion to ensure that it has been completed correctly.
  22. Support warehouse floor and truck operations with lifting, sorting, moving, organizing tasks; drive vehicles for deliveries and referral drop-offs.
  23. Assist with coordination of special events and staff development assignments.
  24. Assist with coordination of material donation drives.
  25. Inspect physical conditions of warehouse, vehicle fleet and other equipment and advise supervisor of maintenance/replacement needs.
  26. Assist with facilitation of monthly staff meetings.
  27. Participate in Catholic Charities of Spokane Volunteer Coordinator collaborations and quarterly meetings.
