Job Summary

This position is responsible to assist residents/participants in the housing program in moving toward independent living, and emotional and mental stability as they work toward permanent housing. This position also involves supervising the swing shift case manager and the site manager for the project.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  1. Supervise and improve quality of operations at House of Charity PSH programs.
  2. Support case management staff to develop individualized case plans for each client around stabilization and to facilitate movement toward and maintenance of stable housing and income, including referrals as needed to link clients with community resources.
  3. Support case management staff, to assist residents with problem solving, conflict resolution, interpersonal concerns, and attainment of goals.
  4. Support case management staff to complete documentation as required by the House of Charity, HUD, and City of Spokane’s HMIS, and other agencies.
  5. Meet with the House of Charity housing staff to discuss and review cases and progress.
  6. Develop an application and referral process to get new client referrals in partnership with Singles Homeless Coordinated Assessment.
  7. Serve as residential manager fulfilling all duties associated with building management including, but not limited to, monitoring building physical plant and coordinating all maintenance and necessary repairs, collecting resident occupancy fees, serving notices to residents, serving as liaison between residents, House of Charity, and community landlords.
  8. Continually seek the improvement in the quality of the HOC operations and Permanent Supportive Housing programs.
  9. Supervise and evaluate program staff.
  10. Perform other relevant duties assigned by supervisor.
  11. Adhere to the tenets of Catholic Social Teaching and Catholic Doctrine.
  12. Perform related functions necessary to support the mission and core values of Catholic Charities.

Job Qualifications

 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must meet the minimum qualifications listed below. These qualifications are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform this job.

Education/Experience: to perform this job successfully, an individual must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Services or related field. Relevant experience in direct client services.

Certificates/Licenses: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have a valid Driver’s License and ability to drive for work use with access to a car. Successfully pass background check applicable to position.

 

Physical Abilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to:

  • Regularly sit, stand, climb, walk, hear/listen, talk
  • Frequently lift up to 25 pounds, pull/push, carry, grasp, reach
  • Occasionally crawl, stoop, kneel
  • Clearly see 20+ feet, with or without corrective lenses, ability to focus

Workplace Environmental Conditions

While performing the essential duties/responsibilities of this job, the employee will be:

  • Noise Conditions: exposed during a shift to constant or intermittent sounds at moderate to loud levels of sound dependent upon the daily activities.
  • Client Population may include persons involved in gangs, with substance abuse concerns, homelessness and/or tendencies towards violent behavior.
